A more sustainable farming is “at the heart” of the EU Green Deal, according the European Commission. The plan is to use less fertilizers and pesticides, less food waste, and less meat. But big meat and intense agricultural lobby have already disrupted the landscape of European farming and breeding.

A cross-border investigation by Lighthouse Reports uncovered their lobbying strategies ranging from distorting scientific evidence to working against the interests of the very people they claim to serve – the farmers. A data-driven investigation in Spain, by Datadista, has revealed how the EU CAP changed the agriculture in Spain.

Join us for the presentation of these two investigations, and an ensuing discussion about the role of the agricultural lobby in Europe and the stories that are left to tell.
